Hello guys ... welcome back, my name is Silki. Okay, so in this video I’m
going to talk about business in the field of fisheries and marine in Indonesia.
As we know that, Indonesia is a producer of fisheries in the world. You can
imagine how much fish that we can produce every day? In this video, I make 3
part of topic disscussion, there are prospect of fisheries industry, fisheries
industry threat, and the role player in marine fisheries.
Prospects of fisheries industry
Until 2007 the position of Indonesian aquaculture production in the world
ranked 4th with an average increase in annual production since 2003 reaching
8.79%. In addition, there is a potential development for capture fisheries in
public waters covering 54 million ha with a potential production of 0.9 million
tons / year. Based on these prospects, Indonesia has good prospects for the
fishing industry. However, it also needs to be taken into account. Regarding
its own policies, the country's political conditions are very dynamic and the
possibility of conflicting interests between related parties (between
ministries, institutions, and individuals) needs to be taken into account.
Fisheries industry threat
The phenomenon of global warming or an increase in earth's temperature also
needs to be considered in estimating the prospects of the future fisheries
business. Many coastal ecosystems such as estuaries, mangroves, coral reefs and
seagrass beds have been damaged, both due to exploitation, conversion
(reclamation) and pollution. In fact, the coastal ecosystem is a place of
spawning, nurturing, looking for food, or raising themselves almost all types
of fish and marine life.
The role of players in the fisheries and marine business
The role of the CTF
Although it is a maritime and largest archipelago country in the world,
Indonesia only has the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries during the
administration of President Abdurrahman Wahid. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs
and Fisheries (KKP) deals with capture fisheries, aquaculture, fishery
processing industry, aquatic biotechnology industry, small island development,
salt production, utilization of valuable objects from sinking vessels, and the
development of non-conventional natural resources in coastal areas and ocean.
MSME
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) even mentioned that
the micro, small and medium enterprises of marine and fisheries are sectors
that greatly contribute to the national economy. However, there are five
problems that are often faced by micro, small and medium enterprises of marine
and fisheries, there are problem of marketing, capital, human resources competencies,
limited mastery of technology, and management. The micro, small and medium
enterprises of Maritime and fisheries can utilize e-commerce networks that are
currently widely available in the market. With e-commerce, they can sell their
products with a wider range and without any place and time restrictions.
We know that we have so much biodiversity in marine fisheries. But, if we
cannot control overexploitation, of course the biodiversity will be end. Let’s
save our biodiversity for future !
